Director of Sales and Marketing - Toronto 

We are presently searching for an  outstanding Director of Sales for a luxurious first class major hotel property in Toronto. The ideal candidate will be totally responsible for strategic sales of this property as well as revenue targeting, leading and developing a team of professional and top sales people.

This position will  administrate, direct and control the  sales department to maximize sales revenue for this premier first class property in Toronto.  With proven  budget forecasting and revenue management knowledge, you must have hospitality focused qualities and be willing to actively support the hotel' s environmentally responsible business practices. You will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be highly organized and detail oriented with significant experience with advertising and special events management.

Candidates must demonstrate a comprehensive approach in obtaining and maintaining priority list of accounts and the focus will be on cultivating relationships, building business, providing a stable and positive work environment for the team to achieve budgeted goals. Ability to quickly evaluate situations and alternatives and decide on a plan of action is a must.

He/she will develop and implement an effective sales/revenue-generating plan to achieve the highest possible occupancy, rate and revenue. He/she will participate and coordinate all key PR and sales initiatives including sales blitzes, client events and  tradeshows.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of recent cutting edge hospitality sales and marketing experience in hotels or resorts preferably in luxury hotels in Toronto or elsewhere in Canada. A degree in Sales, Marketing or Business would be most desirable. You must possess a proven track record as an innovator and be very savvy with the latest e-sales/marketing strategies, web site technology and sales/marketing trends in the  GTA, Canada and the USA.
