Our client in California, an iconic luxury five star property with over 30, 000 sq. feet of banquet space and several meeting rooms requires a dynamic Banquet Chef to run a busy operation. Our client requires an experienced banquet chef who is capable of handling over 800 guests and several meeting rooms, conferences and business meetings. You must be able to lead your team effectively and be able to plan, organize, control and direct the work of the team in the Kitchen Department. You will provide leadership and guidance to all culinary employees through training, development, assignment of job tasks, and scheduling, coordinate the department to produce high-quality food service while ensuring production standards are met and maintained. You must be able to motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Kitchen’ s cold food production area to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and operational planning. You must have excellent communication skills with employees and managers and attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or culinary arts, or equivalent experience is required.
Two to three years previous experience in culinary/food & beverage line especially banquets
Skills and Abilities:
Requires a working knowledge company' s cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other F&B computer systems.
Requires the ability to operate and utilize culinary production equipment and tools.
Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
